Welcome our new Watershed Resource Specialist


Beach Vickers assumed the Morris Creek Watershed  Resource Specialist Pilot Program Position on July 2, 2018.  He is A Montgomery, WV, native and Montgomery High School graduate, where he was class valedictorian, he received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. He next served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer teacher for five years in Afghanistan and South Korea. Upon returning, he was a Montgomery Herald reporter and later education director for the Charleston (WV) Regional Chamber of Commerce. Active in Charleston area community theaters, Beach launched a professional career he continues today as actor, director and producer of stage plays and musicals in nine other states, most recently in Los Angeles. While assisting MCWA, he plans to pursue creation of a Shakespeare festival in Montgomery in his spare time.

He is the son of the late Earl Vickers, a lawyer, House of Delegates member from Fayette County and Director of Legislative Services at the Capitol, and the late Betty Vickers, a school social worker for Kanawha County.

We are so excited to add Beach to our Watershed community.
